We've had a lot of new yarn arriving in the past few weeks and we are trying to get them all on the website. Some of the yarns have been around -- tried and true -- as we say. Others are yarns we loved from years ago that left our shop when their sales reps went away.
We tried to get a variety of new yarns with a range of price points. We will introduce them to you in our newsletters as we make them available on our website; however, most of them are already on our shelves. (Putting new yarn on our shelves means that more yarn has been put in our sale section.)
Vento is a new dk weight yarn by Berroco. It is very soft, lightweight and warm, and has nice colors and a good price point.
If you haven't knit lace before, the Maze Mitts pattern may be a good first project because the pattern is charted as well as having written instructions. Worked in Vento, the bloom of the yarn makes for a cozy pair of mitts and the lace pattern shows up beautifully. Another option would be to do a little stash diving. Do you already have some Kidsilk Haze or thin mohair? Add it to some fingering weight yarn (or thicker yarn for a big hand) and try this pattern out! Mohair, or a brushed yarn like Vento, fills in the holes that the lace creates.
