The Patagonia Lake cowl is knit in the round using a long repeat, self striping yarn like Feederbrook Farm Entropy DK along with a DK weight solid. For the contrast, we used Quaker Hill from Plymouth, a wool/alpaca blend, but Ultra Alpaca Light would also be nice.
It's quite easy to work, using just knit, purl, and slip stitches. The best part is that you only work one color on each row! The cowl is oversized, perfect for snuggling into on a cold winter day, but you could easily modify the size if you want something that fits closer around your neck.
