We love this yarn and each of us here at the shop are struggling not to take a sweater's worth home! This yarn won't be around much longer. Read more about it on our Fiber of Maine website.
If you're not a sweater knitter, there are a couple of interesting Kate Davies designed hats on Ravelry that use a few skeins. Weel Riggit is a slouchy, warm and wearable hat with a jolly pompom and deep ribbing to keep your ears warm. “Weel riggit” means “well dressed” in Scots and Shetland dialects. It takes one skein each of four colors and a US 9 needle.
Corryvreckan is named for Argyll’s famous whirlpool. Graphic waves swirl their way around this appealing hat, following a straightforward slipped stitch pattern. It uses one skein each of three colors and a US 9 needle.
Both of these patterns are available for download on Ravelry for around $6.50 each.
